One day, when doing one of my early morning workouts, I had this INSANE cravings for French toast. This is not normal for me as I am not the biggest French toast person, however the urge to eat that warm, slightly sticky dish, was too overwhelming to ignore.
So when I got home I knew I had to whip this dish up quickly, as it was a Wednesday morning, and I had to be at work in 35 minutes!
A quick throw together if the basic ingredients, and my amazing new find of grainless bread dredged, I stovetop cooked this beauty, and was ready to go in less than 10 minutes!
2 slices of barely bread( found at barelybread.com)
2 egg whites
1 cup of almond milk
2 dashes of cinnamon
1 tablespoon of cacoa powder
1 dash of nutmeg
1. Take your bread and soak for 2 minutes in your mixture of egg whites, cinnamon, nutmeg, milk, and cocoa powder.
2. In a pan heat up 1 tablespoon of palm shortening. Add your soaked slices of toast, and allow to cook on each side for 4 minutes( until a beautiful crunchy layer has formed)
3. Put on a plate and drizzle with nut butter, maple syrup, or toppings of your choice!
