We are in the final countdown to the wedding, and I have decided to take the 7 Day no Sugar Detox Challenge with Further food! My body is very sensitive to sugar and I want to make sure that my digestive system is in its best shape possible for our special day! Now, Tyler and I don't eat refined sugar, but we are now going to cut out any honey or coconut sugar as well as watermelon and pineapple which are very sugary fruits. My hope is to balance my gut before going into wedding week!
With thatttt being said we both love a little something sweet post dinner time....I mean who doesn't??? So I decided to make a take on my holiday truffles, omitting the dates, and adding in some superfoods that will help with my gut health and satiate my need for something sweet at night!
1/2 cup cashews (raw)
1/2 cup almonds (raw)
1 tablespoon maca powder
1 tablespoon cacoa powder
2 tablespoons cacoa nibs
1 tablespoon homemade cashew butter ( no salt or sugar)
3 tablespoons Almond Milk( I love Califia because of their low to nonexistent sugar)
1. In your food processor, add your dry ingredients. Pulse 4 times to mix everything together. Then add 2 tablespoons of almond milk and the 1 tablespoon of cashew butter. Continue to pulse until the mixture starts to form a ball.
2. If need be add more almond milk but do not exceed the 3 tablespoons as it will get to wet and sticky and balls will not form.
3. Once blended, take a tablespoon of the mixture and roll into a ball. Continue this process until all of the mixture has been used. This will create 15-16 balls depending on your scoop sizes!
4. Lay them all out and sprinkle them with matcha powder for that extra energy boost!
** Keep them into fridge and munch away!
